How do I install a temporary license plate?
- Locate the plate portion of the new durable paper. Separate along the line perforation and remove the small perforated (fastener) holes.
- Place the temporary license plates in the plate frames on both front and back of your vehicle.
- If you received only temporary plate, place that plate on the back of your vehicle.
- This new plate is made of durable paper, intended for use in all weather conditions, and does not need a cover.
- When you receive your permanent metal license plates, remove the paper temporary plate(s) and replace with the metal plates.
DO NOT tape your temporary plates to the back of your window. Your temporary plates are only valid if they are placed in the license plate frame on the outside of the vehicle. If your temporary plate becomes damaged, return to a vehicle licensing office for a replacement.
